Map your operations and dependencies
Write down what your business does, where it operates and which equipment and services it depends on. Include relationships with customers, suppliers and external providers. Asking “How would a disruption affect operations?” and “Who could be harmed by this activity?” is a useful starting point for an advice session. This is a review checklist, not a statement that the risks identified are automatically insured.
Identify third-party liabilities
Consider claims involving customers, visitors or other third parties separately from potential liabilities arising from products and services. The Insurance Association of Türkiye’s Product Liability Insurance General Conditions set out contractual terms, boundaries and exclusions within that specific area. They do not establish a single policy covering every business liability. Ask who, which events and which territories are addressed by the contract relevant to your activity.
Review professional liability separately
If you provide professional services, explain the service, your contracts and who the work is performed for. Allegations of professional error should not be treated as identical to other business liabilities. Ask your adviser to explain in writing which claims the quote addresses for your profession and activity, what is excluded and any conditions relating to when events or claims occur. No compulsory-insurance requirement or promise of cover for a specific profession is asserted here.
Data security is more than insurance
The Personal Data Protection Authority’s Data Security Guide discusses technical and administrative measures to prevent unlawful processing and access and safeguard personal data. Review where personal data is held, who can access it and your backup and authorisation practices. Insurance assessment does not replace security measures or legal duties. Do not assume a data breach or regulatory penalty is insured; the relevant contract and legislation require separate review.
Prepare information before requesting quotes
Gather your activity description, operating locations, services, existing policies and significant changes affecting risk. Rather than sending personal data or customer files in an initial form, ask your adviser which documents are needed. Review limits, deductibles, exclusions and claims notification terms together when evaluating quotes. Do not decide on premium alone without understanding the wording.
Identify needs and verify cover
You can discuss your needs with Artı Sigorta under liability, professional liability and data liability headings. These product names do not mean every type of loss is covered. An advice session helps establish priorities; actual cover and terms depend on the insurer’s assessment and relevant policy wording. Start by briefly describing your business activity and the subject you wish to discuss on the contact page.
